 (The Quiver) : In excitement , Will Smith went up on stage at the Oscars 2022 live event and punched Chris Rock in the face after he made fun of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith .  Although he had conducted this act jokingly ,but this shocked everyone in Oscars.

 The live telecast was briefly cut off, and Twitter sprang into action clearly divided. Minutes later, Will Smith bagged the Best Actor award for King Richard, broke down during his acceptance speech and apologised to the Academy and his fellow nominees.

Minutes after he went up on stage and punched Chris Rock . Later on they were seen laughing and posing for photos after his win.

Joke on Wife Did not go well with Will Smith

Chris Rock, while presenting an award, made fun of Jada Pinkett Smith and said that she looked like GI Jane 2. Jada had publicly spoken about suffering from alopecia, which causes excessive hair fall. The joke did not go well with Will Smith  who went up and punched Chris. Chris said, “Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me.” Will then got down to the stage and said, “Keep my wife out of your f****** mouth.”

The Academy has now reacted with an official statement on Twitter. It reads, “The Academy does not condone violence of any form. Tonight we are delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world (sic).”

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith got married in 1997. In 2018, Jada opened up about her alopecia diagnosis and has since been vocal about her condition and the subsequent hair loss. Jada had shared a video on Instagram and said, “Now at this point, I can only laugh. Y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia and just all of a sudden one day, look at this line right here. Look at that.”
