BHUBANESWAR TURNS FRYING PAN;MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF THE DAY REACHED 41.2 DEGREE : know when this temperature rise will stop

Whole Odisha is in turmoil with unbearable heat of summers . Normal life is adversely hit after the maximum day temperature in Bhubaneswar touched above 40 degree Celsius mark by 11:30 am on Saturday. The Capital city is recorded with a maximum temperature of 41.2 degree during the peak hour of the day.

The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre mentions , “heat wave conditions will prevail across Odisha as there is a possibility of rise in mercury by 3 to 5 degrees from today”.

Apart from Bhubaneswar,  Jharsuguda and Chandbali recorded maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees, followed by Balasore  recorded 37.2 degrees , Keonjhar recorded 36.8 degrees and Hirakud recorded maximum temperature of 36.6 degrees by 11:30 am.

Such a heat wave in Odisha has disrupted normal life of people. The reason behind the increasing temperature in the state is predicted to be lack of rainfall . The Kalbaisakhi  rain, which usually occurs in the state between March and May, regulates daytime temperature but this time lack of  Kalbaisakhi rain has contributed for increase in temperature .

Meteorologist  Sarat Sahu states,” low rainfall in April is the reason for the temperature rise. The lack of rain would reduce soil moisture. Two days ago, the temperature in interior Odisha was slightly low due to rainfall. The heat wave will continue until the end of this month”.
