TOMATO ATTACK ON JAGANNATH DEVOTEE
Puri (The Quiver) : A devotee was welcomed in Puri by tomato hit. Our readers must be unaware of this latest tradition of Puri . When did this tradition came up in a holy place like Puri? Well, it started from today with the arrival of popular MP Aparjita Sarangi in Puri who was restricted to step in Puri by the administrative officials as per the state government order.
The Public witnessed the high voltage drama that was designed for today, right from the starting of Aparjita’s determined Journey from Bhubaneswar till reaching Puri. Numerous attempts were done to stop her from reaching Lord Jaganath. But Aparajita made her own way to reach Puri inspite of all obstructions on the way.
On Failing to stop her , tomato- hit was targeted on her and the devotees accompanying her, by a man identified to be a supporter of Debasish Das Mohapatra . Mohapatra is known to be the General Secretary of Chatra Congress who is alleged have flagged the attack .
As per the allegations of BJP Supporters , the tomato attack was a pre-planned arrangement which can be proved from the Whatsapp group where the Puri collector and the Town police station IIC are the group members along with the attack conspirator . So it can clearly be concluded ,the goverment’s involvement in the attack otherwise what can be the reason behind a congress supporter for launching tomato attack on MP Aparajita Sarangi?
The Tomato attack was launched on the MP when she was walking on Badadanda. Such actions of miscreants are ruining the holy tradition of Puri , What kind of hospitality was shown to a devotee whose only intention was to darshan Lord Jagannath ? Is this a new way for welcoming a devotee of Lord Jagannath? On whose signal this attack was conducted? If Aparajita being a MP was disrespected in such a way, how much hospitality will a common man receive on reaching Jagannath Dham , can be clearly guessed .
This attack was done in Public, it has been 5 hours since the incident .Still no steps are taken against the attacker even after the attacker is identified. The administration is has remain silent after witnessing everything. When appropriate actions will be taken against this act of violence and the attacker? Is something to be awaited for.
If Aparajita coming from Bihar can adopt our Culture and Jaganath Sanskruti . She shows outmost dedication for Lord Jagannath and Shreemandir but here question arises where has the Odia ego of Jagannath lovers gone?
