FIRST CYCLONE IN 2022 ASANI TO HIT ANDHRA-ODISHA ON MAY 10

Bhubaneswar (The Quiver) : As per the latest announcement made by the Bhubaneswar Meteorological centre, the low pressure area formed over the South Andaman sea  will move northwards and will intensify into a deep depression on May 7 and subsequently turn into cyclonic storm by the evening of May 8.

Taking to Twitter, the Met Centre said, “The Low Pressure Area over South Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal very likely to move northwestwards, intensify into a Depression by 7th May evening and further into a Cyclonic Storm by 8th May evening.”

 “It is very likely to continue to move northwestwards & reach West central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra­ Odisha coasts by 10th May,” it added. The cyclonic storm named Asani is expected to hit the coast on May 10 but the area where the cyclone will  landfall could not be detected yet.
