SCHOOLS CLOSED IN MALKANGIRI ; HEAVY RAINFALL IN CUTTACK,PURI : KNOW IN DETAIL

Bhubaneswar (The Quiver) : On Wednesday , All the schools are closed in Malkangiri district of Odisha  in view of the Cyclone ‘Asani’ . As the cyclonic storm i9s most likely to go by the peripheral Northern parts of andhra Pradesh, the collector of Malkangiri  ordered the closure of all government and private schools in the district.

As forecasted by the Indian Metrological Department of India (IMD), at least eight districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall today under the influence of cyclone ‘Asani’ over the Bay of Bengal.

Heavy rainfall (7-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack today, the IMD predicted.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha, it said.

Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to continue along and off Odisha coast during 11th to 12th May, the agency added.
