DEATH OR LIFE TERM SENTENCE FOR KASHMIR TERROR YASIN MALIK ?

Pakistan’s hero , India’s villian -Yasin Malik’s punishment will be decided today by Patiala Court. Malik claims to be a Gandhi follower and non violent politician of kashmir.

New Delhi (The Quiver) :  On Wednesday , Patiala House court of Delhi will pronounce its verdict on the quantum of punishment in the case of convicted Kashmiri separatist and chief of banned Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik . The National investigation Agency has demanded the death penalty for convicted Yasin Malik , who had earlier pleaded guilty to all the charges including those under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), in a terror funding case.

The NIA has demanded the maximum punishment under Section 121 (Waging war against the government) which is the death penalty in this case. The minimum punishment is life imprisonment.

The agency made the submission before special judge Praveen Singh and sought death penalty for Mallik ,while the amicus curiae appointed by the court to assist Malik sought life imprisonment  as the minimum punishment in the matter.

Yasin Malik had been claiming that he is following Gandhian principles and non-violent politics. Malik said in court on Wednesday,”After dropping weapons, I have followed principles of Mahatma Gandhi. Since then, I have been following non-violent politics in Kashmir”.

In view of Yasin Malik’s sentencing, heavy police deployment is done at Patiala House Court in Delhi on Wednesday.
