HALF ODISHA IS BURNING, MONSOON WILL ARRIVE LATE

Bhubaneswar(The Quiver) : Unbearable heat waves and scorching heat is making it very difficult to step outside in daytime. May went and June began, still the temperature level is not dropping down .

According to the forecast of Meteorological centre ,Bhubaneswar , heat waves will prevail over places of South Odisha . Those predicted districts  of South Odisha are Bargarh ,Sonepur,Boudh, Balangir , Sambulpur, Nuapada .

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is maximum possibility that the southwest monsoon will not touch the State on June 12. Normally monsoon reaches Odisha between June 12-15 but this time the onset monsoon is likely to arrive late in Odisha.

Southwest Monsoon is known to have advanced over some parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal , Southwest and Westcentral Bay of Bengal on Tuesday.

According to IMD’s senior scientist RK Jenamani , the present conditions are not favourable and the strong westerly wind is also affecting the advancement of monsoon. As a result, several parts of Odisha are experiencing heatwave conditions.

“We have given forecast for next five days and it appears that there is no probability of monsoon onset by June 12. We will again review the condition and predict the onset date,” said Jenamani.

Jenamani said that only after reviewing the condition over next 2-3 days the advancement of the monsoon can get cleared.
