RAJYA SABHA ELECTIONS 2022: 50% voting completed for Maharashtra

(The Quiver) : On 10 June, Friday , The Polling contest  for 16 Rajya Sabha seats are going across the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Haryana. The polling  has already began from 9 am and will continue till 4 pm, the counting of votes will start at 5 pm and the situation will be clear by 6 pm.

 The polling for 16 Rajya sabha seats conducted ahead of the election for the next Preisdent of India, which is due to be held in July.

From Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal to Congress candidates Randeep Surjewala, Jairam Ramesh, and Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut are in fray for June 10  Rajya Sabha polls.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar are known among those who have voted so far. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik, who is in judicial custody, was denied permission to vote in the polls by the Bombay High Court.

Six seats from Maharashtra, two from Haryana and five each from Rajasthan and Karnataka are at stake.

At present In Maharashtra, 50% voting has been done in the first one and half hours. 143 MLAs have exercised their franchise. More than 60 BJP MLAs and 20 Congress MLAs have cast their votes.
