MOHAMMAD SHAMI BECOMES QUICKEST INDIAN BOWLER TO TAKE 150 ODI WICKETS

(The Quiver) :On Tuesday, Mohammad Shami created history to become the fastest Indian to reach 150 wickets in the match against England in Kenninton Oval. The seamer took 80 matches to go past 150 wickets. Shami, who returned match figures of 3/31 from seven overs in India’s 10-wicket win.
English captain Jos Buttler was removed by Shami in the game’s 15th over to reach the milestone. He also dismissed Craig Overton and Ben Stokes.
The legendary bowler Ajit Agarkar, who had taken 150 ODI wickets in 97 games, was beaten by the 31-year-old. Coincidentally, Agarkar celebrated the milestone against Sri Lanka in 2002 at the same venue.
Shami is the third-fastest overall to 150 ODI wickets. He and Rashid Khan of Afghanistan both hold the record. Australian Mitchell Starc now holds the record for taking 150 ODI wickets in the fewest number of games (77), while Pakistan’s Saqlain Mushtaq is second. In 78 games, he took 150 ODI opponents out.
After the first ODI at the Oval, Shami has 151 wickets from 80 matches at an average of 25.32. His economy rate is 5.61. In 60 tests, he has 216 wickets to his name at an average of 27.45. He also has 18 wickets from 17 T20Is at an economy of 9.54.
