NAVJOT SINGH SIDHU GETS A BED IN PATIALA JAIL, HIS BARRACK INMATES SHIFTED

(The Quiver) The 58-year-old Congress leader and ex cricketer of team india, Navjot Singh Sidhu is presently serving one-year term in the Patiala central prison. Sidhu is known to be suffering from knee problem ,he was checked up by an orthopedic surgeon who advised him to lose his weight . He is sentenced one-year term imprisonment in a 1998 road rage case.

According to a PTI report, the ex cricketer who turned politician sleeps on the floor in his barrack and finds it difficult to get up. After the doctor’s advice, the jail administration provided him with a hard board bed.
It is also found that Sidhu is suffering from other medical conditions such as embolism and liver problem .

Days back his barrack inmates were shifted somewhere else in the prison after he reportedly accused them for misusing his cash card. Manjit Singh , the superintendent of the Patiala jail confirmed the development even as he refused to reveal about the further details while calling it a “minor issue”.

Sidhu was moved to the Patiala Central Jail after he surrendered before a local court on May 20 to serve the one-year prison term handed out to him by the Supreme Court in a 1988 road rage case. The Congress leader was earlier let off in the case with a fine of ₹1,000.

Meanwhile , Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi who was found guilty of human trafficking case in 2003 was sent to jail after a Patiala court on Thursday upheld the two-year sentence now Mehndi shares Sidhu’s barrack number 10 at the prison.
