Australia’s pride Eleanor clinch gold in women’s high jump

(The Quiver) : 26-year old athlete Eleanor Patterson created history for her nation as she won the prestigious gold medal in Women’s high jump event in Eugene. In the event, she gone to equal the nation record by beating Yaroslava Mahuchikh.


Only Patterson and Mahuchikh managed to clear 2.02m. The Australian succeeded on her first attempt whereas the Ukrainian required two.
“It’s crazy, on jumping 2.02, I don’t know what actually happened”. Patterson said.
The bronze medal gone to Italy’s Elena Vallortigara with 2.00m.


With this amazing feat in the World Athletics Championships, she become the one and only Australian to win an event at Olympics.
She already secured a first-place finish in the Stockholm Diamond League, adding up with an silver medal at the World Indoor titles in Belgrade which highlighted her 2022 campaign.
