Australian Centre-back Jovanovic to play for Bengaluru FC

(The Quiver) : Indian Super League team Bengaluru FC made a signing of Aleksandar Jovanovic on a one-year deal ahead of 2022-23 season.
Having represented the club across six different countries, the 32-year old player becomes the franchise’s seventh signing under Simon Grayson.


Before moving abroad for signing with Serbian SuperLiga club Vojvodina in 2008, the Sydney-Born defender started his first professional stint with Parramatta Eagles in 2006.
Jovanovic played for FK Palic, FK Veternik, and RFK Novi Sad during three loan stints between 2008 and 2011 in the Serbian leagues.
“Looking forward to represent Bengaluru FC and eagerly waiting to meeting the players, staff members. The idea of moving to India and Joining BFC caught my attention.” he said.
As the Blues gather for preseason training later this month, Jovanovic is anticipated to join fellow newcomers Javi Hernandez, Prabir Das, Roy Krishna, Hira Mondal, Amrit Gope and Faisal Ali.
