KL Rahul set to miss West-Indies T20 series

(The Quiver) : KL Rahul is not likely to make the five-match T20I series trip to the West Indies as originally planned. While the isolation period for Rahul, who tested positive for Covid-19 last week, expires today.

Sources says that he has been recommended to take one more week of relaxation.

Rahul underwent sports hernia surgery in late June and has since been rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Rishabh Pant may have a longer stint as the opener as a result of Rahul’s absence. Ishan Kishan, India’s backup wicketkeeper, is also on the team.

Since the IPL 2022 Eliminator on May 25, when Lucknow Super Giants lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in Kolkata, Rahul has not participated in any competitive cricket.

With one game remaining in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, India presently holds a 2-0 advantage.
