21-year old Srihari in the Final of Men’s 100m Backstroke

(The Quiver): In the ongoing Commonwealth Games, Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj has book his place in the final of men’s 100m backstroke. The 21-year old clocked the timing of 54.55 seconds in the semi-final event.

After Prasanta Karmakar’s historic bronze in the men’s swimming, the young man from Bengaluru will now concentrate on becoming just the second Indian swimmer to earn a medal in the Commonwealth Games.

Nataraj had become the first Indian to swim in the classified heat at last year’s Tokyo Olympics.

With a time of 53.67s on the first day of competition, South African Pieter Coetze, nevertheless, was the quickest swimmer across both semi-finals.

Meanwhile, with a timing of 25.01, Sajan Prakash finished eighth in the Men’s 50m Butterfly event.

Whereas, in the Men’s 400m Freestyle event, Kushagra Rawat who was on his debut finished last with the timing of 3:57.45 sec.
