National Award Winner’s Film To Premiere In Toronto Festival

(The Quiver): Based on Covid-19 pandemic backdrop, Rima Das ‘s Tora’s Husband which won the National award is all set to premiere in the Toronto festival next month. It will the first Indian film to be premiered.

Described as a drama based film by TIFF, which is often known for the audience choice awards made the introduction of Platform in 2015 as a competitive category. In this category the jury gets to choose the personalities played in the movies the eventual winner.

The plot of the movie is about a devoted father struggles to keep his small-town business going as his relationships deteriorate in the midst of personal grief and lockdowns during the pandemic.

Being named as India’s best foreign Language category at the Oscars, Village Rockstars capitulating the international accolades in TIFF 2017.

It turned to be Rima’s second full featured movie.

The goal of Platform was to brighten the light on some of the most distinctive films at our festivals. TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey said.

With the inclusion of feature directors, this year’s platform lineup is featuring a broad range of talent and distinctive directorial voices that are emerging globally.
