Former MP Pavan K. Varma resigns from All India Trinamool Congress

(The Quiver): On Friday, Pavan K. Varma, a former Rajya Sabha member, quits the All India Trinamool Congress after giving his letter of resignation to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The former MP expressed his gratitude to Mamata Banerjee for her kind welcome, love, and courtesies on Twitter.

Former diplomat turned politician Varma has written multiple books and served as cabinet minister-level advisor to Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar. The former Janata Dal (united) leader joined TMC in November 2021.

Varma is the author of various publications and the Druk Thuksey Award, Bhutan’s highest civilian honour.

In addition, Pavan K. Varma is the author of more than a dozen bestsellers, including works on Ghalib and Adi Shankaracharya.
