Shakib Al Hasan to lead Bangladesh till T20 World Cup 2022

(The Quiver): On Saturday, after bringing an end to the cloud of uncertainties hovering around Bangladesh cricket team, Shakib Al Hasan has been appointed as the captain of the T20 team for Asia cup and T20 world cup 2022 in Australia.

Following an in-person discussion with BCB Chief Nazmul Hasan at his home, the board gave him the option of selecting Bangladesh cricket or his contract with Betwinner News.

“He accepted his mistake in signing the contract with Betwinner News and promised not to repeat it. As a result, he expressed optimism.” BCB Cricket Operation Chairman Jalal Yunus said.

Initially leading Bangladesh in four games in 2009-10, he was again roped as captain between 2017-19 where he led his team to 9 wins from 17 occasions in T20 internationals.  

BCB have announced their 17 men T20 squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.
