28-year old Vinesh clinched Bronze Medal in Belgrade

(The Quiver): On Wednesday, after winning bronze medal in 53 kg, Vinesh Phogat became the first women to win two medals in a world championship. She went to defeat Emma Jonna Malmgren 8-0.

In 2019, The 28-year old won a bronze medal in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

Dominique Parrish of the United States of America won the gold medal by defeating Khulan Batkhuyag with a score line of 4-2.

Vinesh made a stunning recovery following her shocking loss to Mongolia’s Khulan Batkhuyag, who won the silver medal at the 2022 Asian Championships in the qualification round.

After experiencing heartbreak in Tokyo, Vinesh went through a challenging period in her career and thought about giving up the sport.

After winning a medal at the World Championship, the 28-year-old wrestler will be more assured as she makes her way toward Paris in 2024.

In the women’s 68kg division, Nisha Dahiya of India will compete for bronze on Thursday. She lost against Ami Ishii, a junior wrestler from Japan, in the semi-final match.
