Livestreaming of Supreme Court Hearings begins Today

(The Quiver): From Today, you can watch the proceedings of the Hon’ble Supreme Court live. The court proceedings can be watched through webcast.gov.in/scindia/. Later, the Hon’ble Supreme Court will start live streaming on its own server through YouTube very soon. People can watch the live stream on mobile phones, laptops and computers.

All Constitution Bench proceedings will be broadcast live on television starting today. Under the direction of Hon’ble Chief Justice U.U Lalit of the Supreme Court, the choice was made during the Flower Court meeting on Tuesday. It was planned to broadcast the hearing live online. It has long been demanded that this happens.

On September 27, 2018, exactly four years ago, Hon’ble Chief Justice Dipak Misra presided over a bench and gave a historic ruling on live television or the internet about crucial constitutional problems.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, NV Ramana, announced in July of last year that the Supreme Court’s hearings would soon be streamed live. The Supreme Court discussed the possibility of live streaming in several of its venues.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court streamed live for the first time over a webcast portal on August 26 in honour of former Chief Justice NV Ramana’s retirement. Live streaming of a bench presided over by NV Ramana’s official procedures.
