Largest Bio Energy Plant Inaugurated in this State; Know More

(The Quiver): On Tuesday, Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Union petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri officially opened the nation’s largest bio energy plant, which was built for 230 crore rupees.

The capacity of this biofuel (biomethane/bio-CNG) manufacturing facility in India is 33 TPD (tonnes per day).

This action will significantly reduce the threat of paddy straw burning in the state. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said.

The plant was established by the Indian division of German Verbio Group.

This plant, which is spread across 20 acres of land, would help reduce the 20,000 MT of fly ash and 1.50 lakh metric tonnes of pollutants that are currently created each year as a result of burning paddy straw.

In Punjab, there are 75 lakh acres of paddy farming. From this, 37 lakh acres of farmers do not burn paddy straw.

In order to assure the management of the remaining 38 lakh acres, certain significant actions must be implemented. He added.

The Punjab CM stated that two additional projects with a combined daily capacity of 14.25 tonnes of compressed biogas are anticipated to be finished in 2022–2033.
