Reece Topley Ruled out of ICC World T20 due to this Injury

(The Quiver): Due to left ankle ligament injuries, England speed bowler Reece Topley will not compete in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

The Surrey seamer will be replaced by Tymal Mills, one of the travelling reserves. Luke Wood, a left-arm seamer for Lancashire, will join the line-up as a travelling reserve.

He later got scans, which identified the injury. The fast bowler, who has previously persevered through a number of injuries, has been among England’s best bowlers in the shorter formats this year, taking 16 wickets at an average of 28 and an economy rate of 7.8 in T20 Internationals.

In his T20 career, Tymal Mills who is set to replace Topley has taken 198 wickets. Additionally, he had a strong performance in the T20 World Cup in the UAE last year, taking seven wickets at an average of little over 15.
