Pakistan PM Rejects this Proposal of Imran Khan; Know More

(The Quiver): On Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that he had categorically rejected a suggestion made by his predecessor, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan, regarding the selection of a successor for General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The Army Chief is scheduled to retire on November 29th

“Imran had proposed that we send him with three names, he responds with three candidates for the position of army commander, and we select the new leader from those six choices.” PM Shehbaz Sharif said.

The situation has altered since he was ousted in April of this year, and Khan now claims that the coalition government wants to appoint an army chief to safeguard seized wealth and steal the general elections.

Last week, Khan had acknowledged that during the opposition’s effort to overthrow his government in March, he had offered to extend the term of army chief Bajwa.

General Bajwa was first appointed in 2016, however the Khan government of the time in 2019 extended his contract for a another three years after he had served for three years.
