These leaders from Congress are Zonal Observers of Gujarat; Know More

(The Quiver): On Monday, the Congress named 42 party officials as observers for the polls in Gujarat, including five senior officials who will be in charge of the four zones as a whole.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, party general secretary Mukul Wasnik. National spokesperson Mohan Prakash, former Karnataka MP BK Hari Prasad and former minister KH Muniappa are the five prominent politicians designated as zonal observers.

“The following prominent party leaders have been appointed by the AICC with immediate effect as zonal, Lok Sabha, and other observers for the impending Gujarat assembly elections in 2022.” General secretary KC Venugopal said.

Mohan Prakash will be based out of Rajkot for the Saurashtra zone, while Mukul Wasnik would be in charge of the South Gujarat zone and have his headquarters there.

The INC recently unveiled its fourth list of nine candidates for the Gujarat elections, and soon after that, zonal observers were appointed. On the list of declared candidates are Mansinh Dodiya of Talala, Mahesh Makwana of Kodinar SC, Malubhai Kandoria of Dwarka, and Revatsinh Gohil of Bhavnagar Rural.

Gujarat assembly elections will take place on December 1 and 5 in two stages, with almost 4.9 million voters casting ballots in 182 different constituencies.
